Release Shoulder Tension

10 minute miracle breath mindfulness yoga therapy Sep 30, 2021

Welcome to another "Ten Minute Miracle" practice.  Take 10 minutes out of your day to re-set, unwind, and reduce some tension in your shoulder girdle

Today we focus on standing, your feet a comfortable distance apart.  

Begin by taking your focus to your feet and feeling grounded.

Then take your focus to your breath.

Bringing the hands together in Anjali mudra (prayer position) we gently press the fingers and palms together, but without making the fingers stiff.  When we stiffen or lock our limbs we actually impede the flow of our beautiful breath.

Feel the breath and the energy in your spine.  Feel your upper chest and shoulders opening and releasing tension.


Bringing our hands into Anjali mudra, and gently pressing them together, will naturally help to bring awareness to your posture and spine, and reduces muscular tension in the shoulder joint. 

Feeling your feet connecting with the earth will help you to feel grounded and settled.

Focusing on your breath brings you into mindful awareness of the present moment.
